PUGS

I have a confession to make.  I used to dislike pugs.  They never made sense to me.  They can’t breathe, their eyes point in different directions and they always look like they are about to tip over.  I just never understood how a dog that structurally unsound could be so popular.  This was until I began dogsitting Louis and Pablo, the loves of my life.  We met in late 2010 and ever since then I’ve been “all aboard” the pug bandwagon, ready and willing for the ride.  To prove that I am not a crazy pug lady ( …because that would be socially unacceptable), I have created a list of pros and cons to owning a pug that will shed some light on my obsession.

The Eyes:

 Pro: DESCRIPTIONS
The words used to describe a pug are as follows:
·      Loyal
·      Loveable
·      Playful
·      Outgoing
·      Friendly
·      Funny

Con: DESCRIPTIONS
The lists of words NOT used to describe a pug are as follows:
·      Majestic
·      Graceful
·      Intelligent
·      Agile
·      Quick
·      Beautiful

Many more words could be used to describe these magnificent beasts (flatulent, comes to mind)…but you get the idea.

Wat:

Con: WINTER
Pugs were not made to withstand the harsh Canadian winters (…and neither was I AMIRITE?).  For example:  a regular walk with Louis and Pablo consists of 3 stages.

STAGE 1: Pug wrangling.  Before each walk we play a game of “capture the pug”.  They absolutely love it.  I don’t.Time: 3 minutes.

STAGE 2: Jackets and Boots.  Dressing a pug up for winter is akin to dressing up a 3 year old child who has no situational awareness.  They just flop around and are absolutely no help at all. Time: 15 minutes

STAGE 3: The walk.  These guys are socially, physically and mentally challenged, so walks can get a bit out of hand.  The boots fall off. The jackets fall off.  My hair turns grey.  Time:
 20 minutes

I’m no mathematician, but even I can see that the amount of time spent walking the pugs is the almost the same as the amount of time it takes to winter-proof them.

The results of 20min of winterproofing:

Pro: SMILES
Feeling down?  Feeling like you need a little love?  Maybe a hug?  You should probably go out and buy a pug.  These guys will make you smile.  Firstly, they are ridiculous.  Just looking at them makes me laugh.  Secondly, they love to cuddle any time of the day.  And lets be honest, snuggling is the best part of ANY relationship…sooo just skip all the hassle of having a boyfriend or girlfriend and get a pug to snuggle with you.

 Smiles and Snuggles:

I am confident that the next time you see a pug sauntering down the street you will think of me and know that, although I might be a little “pugsessed”, I have my reasons.

20 000 dollars dog house

One year ago Tammy Kassis decides that her dogs deserve their own house to live in.
Nothing extraordinary, except for the price of the dog house - $20 000. The house look like a regular hose, it is just smaller and the
furniture is lower to the ground. Tammy Kassis is 42 years old lady and lives with her husband outside of Los Angeles. She explained that
there was an accident where an owl almost took away one of her three dogs - Coco Puff, Darla and Chelsea. Then she decided to give her
dogs an extraordinary dog house. She commissioned a famous architect Alan Mowrer of La Petite Maison in Denver for the dog house and the
result is an 11ft replica of family home with luxury features like heat, hardwood floors, screened doors and windows, handmade curtains,
mini-blinds, and landscaping complete with a white picket fence. Tammy Kassis even has plans to install a plasma TV so the dogs can
all watch their favorite shows on Animal Planet together.

Tammy Kassis was quoted
as saying "My dogs are my life," We all are absolutely sure
about this – after all she spent 20 000 dollars for their home. See pictures of the extraordinary and very expensive dog house below:

Dog's loyalty: Japanese dog refuses to leave injured friend

Emerging coverage from Japan offers a moving example of ultimate dog loyalty, and clearly illustrates the challenges faced by animal victims of the earthquake and tsunami. It has been said that the dogs were picked up after the video was filmed, and are in the care of a local shelter. Updates and pictures will be offered at the link above in the coming days, as available. Translation of the conversation in video:

- We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

- He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

- Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

- Where?

- Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

- The dog is protecting him.

- Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

- I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

- Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

- Yes! Yes! He is alive.

- He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

- Oh good. He's getting up.

- It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.
